I’ll be re-releasing this one soon with doubles steps. I’m doing a BG animation for this one, and was wondering what you guys would prefer… and by “you guys”, I mean those of you who actually give a shit about this StepMania stuff.
First option: random videos, which I used in AM Radio. Second option: a BG animation script using background videos from DDR Extreme. Third: use the title sequence from the show, and finally: just slap in the video with the two parapara dancers demoing the parapara dance for the music.
In the “it’s about fucking time I updated this thing” department, here’s an update to my Golden Sky simfile. I was rather excited when I found out that Golden Sky was on DDR SuperNOVA… and when I played it I was extremely disappointed. The cut sucked and the steps were rather bland.
The Kamek Originals Cut is 1:48 long and continues past the first chorus, instead of repeating it a billion times. This update includes a Beginner chart and doubles charts, which more or less follow the same basic rhythms as the single charts. I stuck with OGG encoding for the song, for those of you who like to use ITG2’s custom song feature.
This is what I’ve been trying to do for the past couple of weeks.
The machine is (well, was) an ITG2 R1 dedicab, located at Incredible Pizza Company in Conroe, TX. And now it has every DDR and ITG song ever, and then some.
I’m still alive, but schoolwork and other pressing real-life issues (and also Super Smash Bros. Brawl) have prevented me from releasing anything lately. I do still plan on putting up more simfile updates, and possibly some new ones too.
AM Radio has been updated, in the first of a planned series of updates to my older simfiles. The aim of this project is to ensure all of my old simfiles are accurate, synced properly, and have both singles and doubles steps for Beginner (single), Light, Standard, and Heavy difficulties.
This update to AM Radio adds double steps: Light (4), Standard (7), and Heavy (9). Additionally, it adds Beginner single steps (2), and a new set of Challenge steps (8), which don’t suffer from “karaoke step syndrome” like the Heavy steps do. It also addresses a sync issue at the end in the old version. Furthermore, the song is encoded at a higher bitrate (192 Kbps) for better quality.
Here is a re-release of all my custom Oni courses, all with banners, including a new bonus course: Video Gamer! Video Gamer also has a new bonus simfile by me from the Brawl soundtrack…
The courses use the DDRUK bumper pack naming scheme. If your DDR simfiles were downloaded elsewhere, you may have to manually fix the courses so that they point to the right song folders. As far as courses with Kamek Originals go, they point to a folder called “Kamek Originals” (natch). A couple courses point to DDREI TournaMix files; if you don’t have these the course can be played without them.
These were entries into the DDREI TournaMixes, and I neglected to copy them into my Kamek’s Originals folder; they were lost with the rest of the TournaMix files. However, I managed to find a torrent containing all the DDREI TournaMixes and re-downloaded these lost files.
See the StepMania page for more details.
Speaking of StepMania… If you play DDR and haven’t voted in this month’s poll, go vote! It might influence future simfile releases.
Whoa, changes! The site looks a bit different today, huh?
I decided to switch to WordPress to power my site. Why? Well, all the coolkids were doing it… also, I was getting sick of dealing with the HTML files and such, and it’s much easier to just post blog entries for my releases. Also, GreatestJournal crapped out (more or less the driving force behind the update.)
Everything is still here, but it might be easier (or harder) to find. On the right, you’ll find posts grouped by their category: MUGEN, news, Postal 2, etc. The various tabs on top take you to a summary page where you can find links to pretty much anything you’re looking for (assuming I keep those updated.)
Speaking of updating things, the Poll of the Month has been updated! This month’s poll is tailored to the DDR fanatics out there: just how good are you? (You can also view last month’s results — discounting the MUGEN votes, StepMania took a close victory over RCT3)
Here is a Beatmania IIDX simfile I wrote a long time ago: Yoshi’s theme from Tetris Attack, in BMS format, fully keysounded. BMS is a format for Beatmania IIDX simfiles. To get set up with a simfile program, check out this guide.
